The works shown at the exhibition are a series of abstract black and white compositions with a suggestive painterly structure, the sensuality of which is emphasized by the varied textures of the applied paint, sometimes giving the impression of not being painted, but “touched” in the process of creating the picture. A detail, such important in the earlier landscape works, gained an independent existence – admittedly preceded by an earlier observation of nature, but completely “detached” from it and perfectly finding itself in an abstract, substantial form.
